KeyTrail® is designed to provide complete management of keys, the people that hold them and the doors they open, all from one screen.
A vital aspect of the security at any facility is the ability to instantly determine who has access to specific locations. Whether you are a locksmith managing an apartment complex or the facility manager at a university, KeyTrail® allows you to monitor the entire operation.
Features of KeyTrail®:
  • Instantly see who has access to a location.
  • Easily see which keys have been issued and which keys remain in cabinets or in stock.
  • KeyTrail® utilizes "drag & drop" technology to move one item to another. For example, to assign a key to an employee, just click on the key and drag it to the employee.
  • KeyTrail® is simple to use. You are provided with easy to understand icons, drop down menus, keyboard shortcuts, as well as a comprehensive Help file.
  • KeyTrail® has a very flexible security feature. The system administrator can set up an unlimited number of security profiles for other people who will be managing the system. Plus KeyTrail® provides an audit trail that tracks all transactions.
  • KeyTrail® generates optional work orders to track cylinder installation and key duplication.
  • KeyTrail® supports Interchangeable Core (IC) systems and can interface with HPC's MasterKing® and CodeMax® to make an all encompassing key producing/tracking package.
  • Information can be imported or exported in either tab delimited or comma delimited format.

KeyTrail® Main Window


1. The KEYS window displays a list of the keys that open the doors.
2. The LOCATIONS window displays a list of the doors that the keys open.
3. The PERSONNEL window displays a list of the people holding the keys.
4. The CORES window lets you keep track of all of your cores, cylinders, and locks whether they are installed or in stock.
5. The KEY SYMBOLS window displays the bitting and depth & spacing information. Separating Key Symbols from Keys and Cores allows people to view or loan out keys without having access to vital key cutting information.
6. The RINGS window enables you to group keys together. Once together they can be moved and assigned as one.

KeyTrail® has a very flexible security feature. It allows you to set up one or many
System Administrators. In turn, they can set up an unlimited number of security
profiles to limit or give unlimited access to users on an individual basis. This will
allow some people to only have the ability to view records, while giving others the
ability to loan out keys without having access to the key cutting information in "Key
Symbols". As an additional security feature, KeyTrail® provides a complete audit
trail that tracks all transactions, including the system user who performed the
transaction.
KeyTrail® generates optional work orders to track:

• Issuing and Returning of Keys and Rings

Each window has a maintenance screen that gives you the ability to SEARCH
through your list of records. In addition, you can ADD new records and
UPDATE or DELETE existing records.
